Security and Chaos Engineering
In this session Aaron will uncover the importance of using Chaos Engineering in developing a learning culture in a DevSecOps world. Aaron will walk us through how to get started with Chaos Engineering for security and how it can be practically applied to enhance system performance, resilience and security.

Security focused Chaos Engineering allows engineering teams to derive new information about the state of security within their distributed systems that was previously unknown. This new technique of instrumentation attempts to proactively inject security turbulent conditions or faults into our systems to determine the conditions by which our security will fail so that we can fix it before it causes customer pain.

During this session we will cover some key concepts in Safety & Resilience Engineering and how new techniques such as Chaos Engineering are making a difference in improving our ability to learn from incidents proactively before they become destructive.

Game-Changing Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning: So easy, even your Grandma could do it!
Did you know that when you take a picture with your latest Apple iPhone, you are, in reality, taking seven different images each time you snap? This is because apple developed AI on a chip (called Deep Fusion) that takes a photo seven different ways at once. Each image looks for a different quality in the overall picture, such as shadows, color balance, depth, lighting, and more. The camera is so fast that in the snap of the shutter, it can optimize each of the seven images in less than a second, and then combine them all back into a single photograph that looks amazing. No one thinks about this AI process. They just know that their small iPhone now shoots images better than their $1500 DLSR camera.

AI is everywhere, and companies now realize the advantages of automating systems, monitoring security, providing help and support, and completing repetitive manual tasks in very efficient ways.

TechStar has been working with Microsoft AI to build fully automated document scanning systems. These systems automatically extract data, tag the documents with the metadata to improve search and retrieval, rename the scans based on the content, apply security levels automatically to the documents, and then stores it in Microsoft SharePoint & Teams for long term archival and use. Rather than build a proprietary system, TechStar uses standard Microsoft off-the-shelf software and teaches companies that wish to use it how to train the AI/ML libraries to pull specific data.

This Innovate session will dive into showing non-developers how to build incredible AI systems. This is for business leaders trying to find new technology advantages they can use to increase profits and reduce costs. We will show how to train ML models to recognize documents. We will easily encode AI chatbots to respond to various user requests. We will set up object detection from photographs and count the number of objects in a photo. We will even set up AI to read the mood and temperament of a customer response so that it can take appropriate action. All of this without writing a single line of code! Please join us for this incredibly entertaining and educational discussion.

DevOps Container Security Challenges
DevOps and the migration to container-based deployments have increased the velocity and quality of our software pipelines by shifting infrastructure and operational practices "left", closer to the development teams. While these changes allow for faster feedback and greater opportunity for automation and testing, security concerns are still often left as a late-stage hurdle in our pipelines because the tools and security teams have not been invited to our DevOps party. In this session, we'll talk about how to implement proactive security practices at the left-most stages of your SDLC pipelines, fostering the DevSecOps mentality and we'll talk about the new challenges this brings to the scope of work application developers face in today's containerized application landscape.

Cloud Security Posture Management and Workload Protection
While there is a big investment in threat detection across the security industry, the reality is that many studies have shown that security hygiene is still the number one reason that organizations get compromised. This means that visibility and control over your cloud workloads’ security posture is an imperative measure to reduce the likelihood that attackers will exploit misconfigurations and known vulnerabilities in your environment. From preventative remediations of security recommendations, to the utilization of secure score as your main KPI to drive security posture management, ASC provides a set of capabilities that are target for Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) scenario and also Cloud Workload Protection Platform (CWPP) with Azure Defender.
