I am Charan Randhawa, Vice President of Analytics at At Home Stores. I love to solve complex business problems, especially the ones considered unsolvable. My approach is to incorporate hypotheses and opinions from business operators into data analysis to build real, interpretable and actionable solutions for the business operators. I started my professional career in Physics research and have a Ph. D. in Condensed Matter Physics, which required extensive use of statistical and computational techniques, as well as calculus to increase understanding of how supercooled liquids behave. After Ph. D. and couple of years of Post-Doctoral research at University of Maryland, I subsequently moved into Business, and did MBA from UT Austin. My first corporate job was with Pizza Hut, where I learned the value of product centric aspects of data analysis in customer focused industries. I have since moved from Restaurant into Retail industry and transitioned from Finance to Analytics – which has helped me get back to my true passion – which is numbers! I love to apply intuition into math and vice versa and help businesses solve problems spanning Real Estate to Merchandising, in a quantitative and measurable way through the power of Analytics.

I am married with a 12-year-old son, and he is the center of our world. My son loves to play competitive soccer, and thus all our free time is engrossed in the world of youth soccer. We live in Parker, Texas and just for the record - Texas’ heat doesn’t bother me!
